Le strade di Torino

Arianna | The designer

Being a girl from Rome, I first came here to Turin to follow one of my biggest dreams: to become an illustrator! I left in a hurry, bringing with me my roman accent (very difficult to get rid of) and a couple of suitcases full of books and magazines: I love them!

I like experimenting and trying different things, so after working as a food photographer and graphic designer, I packed my stuff and bought a one way ticket to Turin. It was a leap into the dark: I knew nothing about this city but in a very short time I fell in love with it!

I love my job, and in my free time I like taking pictures, eating a lot (I’m a taurus, it’s inevitable) and one thing that is never missing in my pocket is a train ticket. Getting bored: never!

Things I cannot live without || The sea, my hair straightener (my hair is a mess), sushi.

Favourite coffee place in Turin || The one from Barbiturici, nearby my house, especially on a sunday morning when I can seat in the dehor and enjoy a nice slice of cake (wearing my sweat pants and some big sun glasses, ‘cause I cannot think of getting dressed up or doing my make up before having my usual morning espresso).

Favourite street || Via Accademia delle Scienze: I always walk this street on my way to work and I like to walk side by side with tourists, I feel like one of them too for a few moments! There’s a lot of unique historycal places on that street, and in the morning the light is magical!

The thing that makes me feel Torinese || Walking by the river Dora, going grocery shopping at Porta Palazzo’s market, having a drink and a good read at Circolo dei Lettori.
